Wentloog Wildfowlers

Foreshore wildfowling and conservation club

Environment

Our marsh falls within the Severn Estuary Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), Severn Estuary Special Protection Area (SPA) and Severn Estuary (Wales) RAMSAR, and we have a Consent from Natural Resources Wales (NRW) to carry out our activities.

We take our obligations to the environment very seriously and strive to cause as little disturbance to the wildlife of the foreshore as possible. We regularly organize foreshore clean-ups with our friends in the Gwent Wildlife Trust and we have imposed a no-shooting zone on part of our ground to allow safe refuge for wildfowl. We work closely with NRW and other organisations and try to maintain good relationships with all those who work, live and play around the foreshore. We are committed to monitoring and improving the health of our marsh and its wildlife, and we are always keen to engage with those who share our aims and interests.

Still a wild place
